Affiliate Marketing...do i choose the niche first or affiliate product?

If I'm setting up an affiliate site should i think of a niche first and then try to find the affiliate product or is it the other way around??? thankx

1. Having affiliate product knowledge first is better before you start writing content of your niche. If you know the Affiliate product already you may research on potential keywords and then it can be included into your content per SEO guidelines. this content will be crawled and indexed by search engines. Otherwise you may need to update it afterwords.
besides you may know the industry payouts of the selected product for your niche. For instance in UK, secured Loans payouts are usually hire than debt management leads in finance category.
