Why were Republicans surprised that investment bankers and stock brokers are greedy?
A number of top republican law makers, including John McCain, said that our economic system would have worked just fine except for the greed of Wall Street.
If their policies rely upon the selflessness of Bankers, I'm not surprised our economy is in this much trouble.
I'm not getting down on investment bankers for being greedy. It's the intentionaly blind law makers I'm unhappy with.

1. Little sharks always call big sharks a greedy bustards - that's capitalism..
2. Why are so many Liberals in denial about how much the Democrats had to do with the collapse of the Financial Institutions?
3. They're not "surprised" they're trying to disassociate themselves from their own people.... trying to get the smell off the $hit -- so to speak.
Incidentally - that's pretty freaking hilarious. For somebody to say our economic system would have worked ust fine "except for the greed of Wall Street" is pretty much like saying, "Gosh, swimming would be just fine if you didn't have to get WET."
GREED is the GOAL of unfettered capitalism.
4. Greed certainly isn't specific to any one industry. Look at the industry of politics. I give you Ted Stevens (R), Richard Jefferson (D), Lisa Murkowski (R), Rod Blagojevich (D), Bob Ney (R), Charlie Rangel (D), and Bill Richardson (D).
