1. Relax.
First day jitters is common. Don't smoke. Don't drink. Don't gossip. Don't tie in with any of the office clicks. Don't talk about ANYONE except to acknowledge if you KNOW that person or not.
These companies do not hire you for your personality. (I used to be a Hiring Manager for one). You are fresh meat for the marketing department. They go through people like beer drinkers go through peanuts -- droves!
Be ready to PROVE your ability at SALES, SALES and more SALES. Over 90% of the fall out in these type jobs is because YOU can not cut the mustard in producing sales. Remember they are in business to MAKE money. No sales. No money. If you are not a revenue gatherer you are NOT good to retain.
Good luck in the boiler room environment. It's not bad the first 3 years. Once you get the hang of the sales procedure, life gets easier.
2. Rest assured, while your personality may have been a factor, a company would not hire you if they didn't believe you were qualified for the job. They know your background and therefore may be expecting you to need a while to fully understand everything. Just show up with a positive attitude, be ready to learn and ask for help when you need it.
3. not to worry -- get a good night sleep -- eat a lite breakfast -- dress for success and arrive at least 10 minutes early -- be polite listen an learn and in 4 weeks you will have them eating out of your hand!!!
