what are the hottest stocks in the stock market as of now?

I'm playing a game at school, so its not real.

Go for health care stocks, or "counter cylical" type stocks that do well when the market is down.

Example of counter cylical stocks would be debt collection firms and so forth that get a lot of business when the economy looks gloomy.

Stocks this morning have been taking a beating, seemingly due to movements in the Chinese stock market (Most major markets are down by a good chunk as I type this)

You might want to read though the business news and look for things that are in the news with positive things. That is pretty much what everyone does anyways, although some may get fancy about it.

Here is a trick that works better than most experts:
Tape a copy of the wall street journal to the wall and throw darts at it, then pick the stock that the dart hits. This is a 100% real experiment that was done and the darts beat a host of so-called experts.
