Can anyone tell me how or where I can get day trading software for low or no cost?

I am interested in day trading, but internet sites want you to have at least 20K to get started. I heard that there is software to trade as little as $2/share and cut out long line of middlemen as well.

1. As A day trader you only need real-time quotes, right? They are available free, with most trading accounts. You must believe in some trading format I've never heard of Good Luck! The less who know the better off you'll be.
