Is online trading with Zecco better and cheaper than Scottrade?

Zecco advertises that they are much cheaper then the others, but are they really cheaper, and are their online services for trading stocks and options good?

1. They are cheaper but their interface is horrible. The quotes are always behind and I couldn't find half of the things I needed on their website. I ended up moving my accounts to a different brokerage so I could actually keep track of my money and execute trades for the correct price.

2. i opened a zecco account on november 21 and i cannot be more happy with it. i only have 500 to invest or so, considering i am in high school, but it depends on what you are looking for.

they are cheaper at 4.50 a trade, and they provide the same options trading as any other online trading website, but the reason it is cheaper than everything else is the lack of advice. They have no brokers on their payroll and this is why the trading is so cheap. This is the type of website you want to use if you rely on yourself for research of the markets.

and just a little side note... check out fannie mae (FNM). all i can say is $0.76 a share... traded as highly as $40 earlier in the year. it can come back.

3. I've been with Zecco for over a year and a half. I use other sources for research but for pure executions I use Zecco. I am able to get trades for free, so I get what I pay for. I havent any problems with them, their customer service has been good for me.

4. Both are pretty expensive. Personally, I think Sogotrade is best among all online brokerages. You can get a lot of free trades: about 100 free trades with 500 minimum deposits. It has very good customer services, it also has live help, and you can chat with representatives about any question. After that, only 3 dollar for each trade, pretty sweet when compared with other online brokerages.
