How soon do you think General Motors will be De-Listed from the New York Stock Exchange?

General motors stock keeps falling and falling, and soon it will be under $1. At that point it will be de-listed from the exchange.

So, do you think it will happen in November, or December 2008, or maybe in 2009?

Another thing: If I have a GM car and GM goes bankrupt and stops building cars all together, how will I get spare parts for my car?

Public Comments

1. They will probably be no longer able to fulfill their contractual obligations to their creditors; bringing about bankruptcy, before they have to worry about being de-listed. I don't know about the spare parts.

2. To get D-listed one has to achieve any one of the following:

1. Trade under $1.00 for 30 or more days.

2. File for bankruptcy.

GM doesn't make car parts. Delphi automotive makes the car parts. Delphi and their 42 separate corporations all together have been in bankruptcy for the last 3 years, and guess what - they are still making car parts.

3. Parts are made for vehicles for 10 years after they are discontinued, in most cases.

Knowing GM's tendency to have 30 clones of each vehicle they make, you will be fine.
