How can I get certain pokemon by trading online on pokemon pearl?

I go online for trading and when I go to search for certain pokemon I cannot find them as an option.
ie Mew, Articuno, Entei, Lugia,

Yet I can see everyone else can search for them and trade.

Do I need to do something to get it as an option?

I have the national dex as well.

1. You need to have seen a Pokémon and have it registered in your Pokédex before you can search for it on the GTS. That's why they aren't showing up. It's meant to stop people from just going and asking for a Mewtwo or something as soon as they start playing and taking all the challenge out of the game.

If you want to get those Pokémon yourself, you'd be better off joining a Pokémon forum and requesting them there.

2. unfortunately you can only trade a pokemon if you have seen it in the wild or a trainer has it.
there is another way when you get someones friend code and you both ahve each ortheres then you can trade which pokemons they have dosent even matter if you have seen it or nothope it helped

3. You need to have seen the Pokemon to be able to search it up. I have a website that has EVERYTHING ever imagined on Pokemon. Cheat codes, trades, anything! The people in this forum community are very friendly.

Go here an just make an account on the forums, join up and you can make requests in the Pokemon Requests Forum section:

Good luck and have fun dude!

...Or do it the hard way and battle or find a friend with the Pokemon you want.

4. Any Pokemon, the only problem is you need to have seen that Pokemon first...

Hope This Helps! :D

5. You're going to have to see them before they're available for search in the GTS. Mew, Entei and Lugia will be hard to come by.

Articuno on the other hand, one can migrate it from FireRed or LeafGreen. Of course that means the Articuno vanishes from the GBA game.
