Where do I find info about what stock brokers do?
I have been offered a software consulting opportunity to create software for a financial services company. I know my technical stuff but I need to know more about the industry. Can anyone point me to a good, short reference on ideas and terms used in the financial services field?

2. The primary job for a stock broker is to find the best investment package for a client to make money and possibly prepare for retirement. You will educate your client using lamens terms and use concrete examples. Don't use jargon that a normal person wouldn't understand.
