What variables are incorporated with the stock market?

I am doing a math project for my IB MATH STUDIES class. I have decided to look at the stock market. I need two non-numerical variables and two numeric variables. I want to use day of week and time of day as my non-numerical variables. Any ideas as what to use for my numerical variables? Also, if you give me variables that are in stock language, could you explain them. And if you give me something in regular speak, gimme the stock name equivalent if you know what I mean.

Volume, which is the total number of shares traded in a certain period of time, usually calculated by the day of trading.
