What marketing software/computer programs are most commonly used? What marketing skills do companies look for?

I am just entering the "marketing" field with no degree in a related field. I do have experience with cross-promotion, promoting company services/products, designing print advertisements, and customer service. I would like to know what marketing programs exist, and which ones I may be expected to be familiar with in an interview. I have never used any program with vector art - does this matter?
