Can anyone help me with online trading?
Hello friends. Am put up in Bangalore. Am keen to do online trading, investing on shares & debentures online. Can anyone tell me how to go about it? I heard that we need to qualify in some exam. Can anyone guide me in this regard. Thanks in advance.

1. You will need to set up and fund an account with an online brokerage--I use Scottrade.com. You will be assigned an account number and password. When the account is funded you can sign in and trade--no exam required. You may have to fund the account with American dollars so you would have to convert your Rupees to dollars--I am not sure the best way to do that but the brokerage should be able to tell you.
2. I am a subroker with Karvy. You can open a DEMAT account with any broker of your choice. I would suggest Karvy as their software is the most userfriendly. You have to study any business newspaper for at least six months to get fmailiar with the market.. Never believe on anybody who may be claiming himself to be a Guru of Harshad Mehta.

3. What is required is a trading account and a DEMAT account. There are good brokering firms like sharekhan, indiabulls, indiainfoline, geogit, religare etc. There are also many banks providing 3 in 1 account where your savings bank account gets linked to your trading and demat account. It enables faster cash transfers for fund transfer and withdrawals. There are no Exams to qualify for trading as an investor. PAN(permanent account number) allotted by IT is mandatory to open a Demat account.
