How to report US stock trading in Canadian Tax return?

I am trading US stock, my Cad. brockrae a/c and activities are in US $. for tax return to convert US $ activity in Cad $ which rate should I take into consideration? Yearly avg. or the exchange rate on the days of buying and selling US stocks?
