What is the best online trading site for me?

I'm an 18 year old guy trying to learn a bit more about the stock market and trying to make a little extra pocket cash with $1000. What do you think would be the best online account (minimal fees and small/no required initial amount) for me to use? $15 per trade will eat away at that $1000 fairly quickly so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your input!

1. Hi!

I would first invest money in education.... free advice is not going to get you anywhere in the world.

Buy the following book by Dr K. Van Tharp - Trade your way to Financial Freedom..it has everything about the market, how to develop a trading system, concepts that works... etc.

I use Cityindex as my trading platform and sometimes i pay more than $15 for a trade... that's normal.

If you have any further questions... contact me, i'll be more than happy to give you more advice...

I'm an intra day trader thus go in and out of trades in a day... (no overnight)
Good luck!!

2. hi there,

i have traded over many stock markets and currency trading platforms. i have made 2000 in just 3 trading hours. as per my experience the best trading platform is http://system.referforex.com/processing/clickthrgh.asp?btag=a_13862b_5035

best of luck

3. I know your situation quite well. You will want to research your stocks read annual reports and such before investing. I strongly reccomend reading ' The Intelligent Investor' by Benjamin Graham, the mentor of Warren Buffet- The third richest man on earth.

Anyways likewise to the lessons you will learn in the book you shouldnt be investing with short term goals, but longer ones more than a year. COMMISSIONS WILL EAT AWAY AT YOUR EARNINGS IF YOU HAVE SHORT TERM GOALS

To answer your question, i would trade at buyandhold.com, the buying commissions are cheaper, but the selling is more expensive, encourageing buying and holding.
Hope it helped!

4. Hey, why don’t you try stock robots?

I'm assuming you know what I'm talking about. If not, let me take a second to fill you in.
There's a site on the internet that claims to have invented a robot that can pick winning stocks. I was skeptical at first but I tried it. And I SWEAR it’s the BEST investment I ever made! I’ve made $47350 so far since I started a few months ago.

The best part was I threw my resignation letter at my boss’s face and showed him the middle finger.

5. I've been looking for a while, and I came across 4 I thought were the best:

Scottrade
Sogotrade
Zecco
Optionshouse

Scottrade has branch locations around most major cities but their commissions are higher than many other brokers. Sogotrade offers a better commission except their tools especially the screener could use substantial improvements. My account is under Zecco. They offer 10 free trades a month with 25 trades, $4.50 otherwise. My trading skills have skyrocketedsince I began trading through them because of their online trading community. Its easy for anyone to find the most recent picks from the best traders, just look up the highest ranked players and click on their profile. If you choose Zecco, they pay you $75 for every person you refer. Optionshouse is another discount broker at 2.95 per trade, but they don't offer an online community. If you decide to open with Zecco, contact me at harrison_277@yahoo.com (and anyone else interested) and my account will be reimbursed for your referral. Any more questions I'd be happy to answer.
