I want to get into niche marketing, what's your best advice?

Should I look for some niche marketing examples on the internet? What's the criteria for a good niche? Thanks.

2. 1) Pick a niche where people are spending money (use Google Adwords' CPC data to determine cost per click rates -- the higher the number the better -- usually)
2) Pick a niche that isn't overwhelmed by affiliates already (thinking of reuniting exes-type programs off the top of my head) or has millions of competitors online, especially as your first project
3) Ideally, pick a niche that you can relate with / are interested in. This really helps to keep you motivated as you're going along.
4) Don't give up too soon. Sometimes, you might not see profits from your site for well over a month (depending on your monetization tactics & traffic-generating abilities). Don't invest a few weeks into one site and jump to another -- work on a site hard and heavy until you're seeing what you like, then start on another one while continuing to update the previous site. While your sites should, ideally, be self-sustaining to a degree once they're up and running, you can't just ignore them completely and expect them to produce profits indefinitely.

Also, you're unlikely to find *great* niche markets from an ebook or on a website somewhere -- you'll likely have to find your own. From time to time an idea will pop into my head, or I'll be doing research on something and stumble upon a great niche market.... I just jot those down & work on them as I have time.

3. To be successful with niche marketing you need four basic things....

Proper keyword research
A solid marketing plan
Understanding of your competition
Unique content

Choose a topic that you are interested in and start with that. Research the competition and see what it looks like for specific keywords. It is true that a high CPC value in Google Adwords may represent a 'sellers market' as there is demand.

Build a blog around your topic and unique content and monetize it with relevant affiliate offers or your own product. It's not rocket science but you have to pick keywords that have demand and that you can get ranked on the first page of Google for or it may be a waste of time. Good luck!

4. Don't buy anything!

People will try to sell you everything. I regret every purchase I ever made except Mirco Niche Finder, but you don't need that tool. I just personally really like it.

Here is a thing that I like to do: go to wal-mart and watch what people are buying or talking about that is new. A new product is less likely to have competition and if people at wal-mart are talking about it and/or buying it, then so are folks online.

As for examples, this website has some good FREE advice and videos and training and all that.

Good luck!
