Payment processors for checks distributed to contractors?

I'm starting work with some contractors who will be paid monthly from a specific account but I'm trying to find a company that sends out checks to contractors from the funds I'll be depositing from clients. (Clients pay me, I pay the check distributor, they pay the contractors.) I've done work as a contractor myself and have been paid through a third party, but I've been unable to get information from the company that had previously hired me for contract work to find out who they use for payment distribution, and I'm not sure what to plug into Google to find such companies. Any company names (in the U.S.) would be very much appreciated.
The reason I'm wanting to outsource this is because I'm not good at bookkeeping, plus I don't want to get bogged down in too many administrative aspects. I'm hoping that my business will grow large enough to make payroll processing necessary. By trade and training I'm a writer and editor, and I want to hire other writers and editors as contractors for writing and editing jobs.

1. You really want to put a middle person into the payment process? What is the value that they add to the job? Personally, I can only see a potential for problems and bad feelings, but if it is what you really want, try searching 'payroll processing'. I know it's not payroll, but since these companies are already set up to be a middle person, they may also be able to handle your requirements. If nothing else comes up, try contacting EDS and see if this is one of the services they offer.
