Starting an e-commerce website with a payment processor?

When starting an e-commerce website with a payment processor (not PayPal), do I have to form a legal company or can I just sign up as an individual?

1. You will be required to set up a "business account" with your own bank.

Internet merchant gateway services won't process credit cards through personal accounts.

Your bank will charge you a per transaction fee, as will the merchant gateway service. ..but in total it will probably only be in the 35 cent range.

both services will also charge a monthly fee....probably totaling 35-50 dollars.
