Cost of building a day trading computer?
I am a day trader and I am planning on building my own day trading computer. Could anyone tell me if I'm able to build a cheap, fast, and reliable day trading computer for under $500? I need at least a processor with clock speed of 3.2 ghz, good quality motherboard, etc. I would need the computer to support 4 monitors. Could someone include a list of everything I would need including the price of each item. Your help is much appreciated.

1. You can do it for under $500 but it's going to be a tough squeeze, and for that price you need to ensure you don't try to do intense operations like gaming or video rendering. Here's what you do:
Barebones Kit including case, 500 gig HD, dual core processor, 2 gigs of ram, fan, DVD read write, motherboard, CPU Cooler, $231.99: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005II6CQU/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thmiofsp-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399373&creativeASIN=B005II6CQU
Now you'll need a video card with two outputs for dual monitors, Geforce 8400 GS 512 mb $35.79: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004BQKQ8A/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thmiofsp-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=B004BQKQ8A
For the next two monitors you'll need a converter that plugs into your USB for $49.95 x 2: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003IE49T8/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thmiofsp-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=B003IE49T8
Hook up two monitors directly to video card, two monitors through each of the USB monitor adapters.
Total hardware cost: $367.68
Then you'll have to add an operating system (if you don't have one already) and your four monitors.
Keep in mind that this system while it will work is a very basic (but upgradable, that mother board can go up to a quad core AMD phenom II procesesor).
Hope that helps.
