how do i get stock quotes on my yahoo toolbar for internet explorer 8?

i had been using internet explorer 6 and used to be able to have a window where i could type ticker symbols and get stock quotes, but when i downloaded internet explorer 8 enabled for yahoo, that window is no longer there. What do I do to bring it back?

1. possibility that it is not with the internet explorer 8,they might of had omitted some items on the version 8. You can click on about, than click on answers blog, should be able to get help their. good luck

2. Your issue has nothing to do with Internet Explorer. You made a good decision to upgrade IE 6 to IE 8. I suggest you go to web page toolbar.yahoo.com and make sure your toolbar is up-to-date. If not, click Reinstall. Go to the following site:
http://finance.yahoo.com/
and click the My Portforlios button (near the top) and enter the stocks you want.
After that click the gear icon (at the end of the Yahoo toolbar), click Edit Your Apps, click Add Apps. Enter Finance in the search box on that window and then add the Finance app. Click the Yahoo toolbar Finance icon to see your stocks.
You will see some grey or black icons toward the end of the Yahoo toolbar. Move your mouse to the grey rectangle with the white lines. That is the channels button. Click the button and turn on Channels and select Finance. The Finance toolbar is a mini toolbar in the Yahoo Toolbar. You might like it, then again you might not. Click the Channels button and click Turn off.
IE 8 has a search provider box on the same line and after the address bar. You can enter searches or use the Yahoo toolbar search box.
Enter the name of the stock (e.g., Yhoo) in either of those search boxes to see a synopsis of your stock history.
Good luck.
