What is the difference between Marketing objectives and Strategies in a Marketing Plan?

Doing a marketing plan for a golf course. Objectives: Increase rounds played, increase awareness. Strategies: ??? Should I use pretty much the same thing or are they going to be much different than my objectives?

1. Marketing objectives are being more specific such as the brand, size, product that being featured, and other marketing mix-related elements. Think of the connection between business objectives and marketing objectives this way: Business objectives guide the entire firms, operations, while marketing objectives state what the marketing function must accomplish if the firm is ultimately to achieve the overall business objective.

While on the other hand, marketing strategies you must make decisions about what activities you must accomplish to achieve the marketing objectives. This means deciding which market to target and actually developing the marketing mis strategies (product, price, promotion, and place to support how the product is positioned in the market.

I hope this is helpful.

2. Objective (What is the Goal):
Increase rounds played, thereby increasing golf course revenue.
Strategies (How to achieve Goal):
Increase awareness of the golf course by advertising.
Offer discounts during mid-week slow periods

3. Objective should be based on increased revenue, increased memberships, increase awareness, increased plays, etc.

Your strategy should consist of methods you plan to implement to reach that objective.
