Summary: cnbc maria bartiromo jim cramer larry kudlow barton biggs dylan ratigan fast money mad money cnbc stocks stock market daytrading investing 54 sec - Dec 18, 2006 Every day. EVERY SINGLE DAY. EVERY day, CNBC, Blooberg, Fox, and all the mainstream media posit, What is fueling this market? It should strike you as more than just casually noteworthy that there is no one answer. That's a puzzle. A riddle. An unsolveable mystery. If, as wallstreet wants you to believe, the reason stocks go up is good fundamentals , then you should be able to quantify those good fundamentals . Alas, the debate rages. One day oil prices are driving the market down. The next day, oil prices are shrugged off . A week later we could look at a chart of the S P 500 and see that oil prices moved up right along with the market . Isn't that funny? How about interest rates ? Since you began your investing career, you've been spoon-fed the idea that interest rates on the rise mean stocks on the decline (and, vice versa). But, if you look at the charts, you'll see something strange. You'll find that as interest rates move up, the market moves up. As interest rates move down, the market moves down. How about that? Pretty weird, huh? Almost like, well, like mainstream wallstreet either lies to you, or mainstream wallstreet really has no idea what drives the market up or down. Now, I believe the former. But, watch the video I uploaded to YouTube today for evidence of the latter. The video I uploaded today is an amazing interview with Barton Biggs. Maria Bartiromo interviewed Barton Friday afternoon (December 15, 2006). If you don't know who Barton Biggs is, read what Smart Money Magazine says, He's the ultimate big-picture man, according to a piece at the Web site of Smart Money magazine. As the global investment strategist for Morgan Stanley, Barton Biggs is without question the premier prognosticator on the international scene and a mover of markets from Argentina to Hong Kong
